Microscopic calculations of elastic scattering between light nuclei based on a realistic nuclear interaction

چکیده
The elastic phase shifts for the α + α and α + He collisions are calculated in a cluster approach by the Generator Coordinate Method coupled with the Microscopic R-matrix Method. Two interactions are derived from the realistic Argonne potentials AV8’ and AV18 with the Unitary Correlation Operator Method. With a specific adjustment of correlations on the α + α collision, the phase shifts for the α + α and α + He collisions agree rather well with experimental data.

Probing the Nuclear Equation of State in the quasi-elastic nucleus-nucleus scattering
Large-angle elastic scattering of α-particle and strongly-bound light nuclei at a few tens MeV/nucleon has shown the pattern of rainbow scattering. This interesting process was shown to involve a significant overlap of the two colliding nuclei, with the total nuclear density well above the saturation density of normal nuclear matter (NM). For a microscopic calculation of the nucleus-nucleus pot...
متن کاملHigh-energy pion-nucleus elastic scattering.
We investigate theoretical approaches to pion–nucleus elastic scattering at high energies (300 ≤ Tπ ≤ 1 GeV). A “model–exact” calculation of the lowest–order microscopic optical model, carried out in momentum space and including the full Fermi averaging integration, a realistic off–shell pion–nucleon scattering amplitude and fully covariant kinematics, is used to calibrate a much simpler theory...
متن کاملM ay 1 99 8 Microscopic model analyses of the elastic scattering of 65 MeV protons from targets of diverse mass
Nonlocal coordinate space optical potentials for the scattering of 65 MeV protons from nuclei ranging in mass from 6 Li to 238 U have been defined by folding a complex, medium dependent effective interaction with the density matrix elements of each target. The effective interaction is based upon solutions of the Lippmann–Schwinger and Brueckner–Bethe–Goldstone equations having the Paris potenti...
متن کاملNuclear rainbow scattering and nucleus - nucleus potential
Elastic scattering of α-particle and some tightly-bound light nuclei has shown the pattern of rainbow scattering at medium energies, which is due to the refraction of the incident wave by a strongly attractive nucleus-nucleus potential. This review gives an introduction to the physics of the nuclear rainbow based essentially on the optical model description of the elastic scattering. Since the ...
متن کاملQuantum Monte Carlo Calculations for Light Nuclei
Quantum Monte Carlo calculationsof ground and low-lying excited states for nuclei with A 8 are made using a realistic Hamiltonian that ts NN scattering data. Results for more than 40 diierent (J ; T) states, plus isobaric analogs, are obtained and the known excitation spectra are reproduced reasonably well. Various density and momentum distributions and electromagnetic form factors and moments ...
